The first two days at Amazon Fashion week SS 17 commenced with a focus on handloom textiles. The 28 th edition presents 110 designers with womenswear, menswear, and accessory collections. From Fashion bloggers to designers, this fashion week SS 17 exhibits a variety of trends and attractive collections. Plenty of buyers are also spotted during the fashion week roaming around the designer stalls, looking for the desired ensembles. International buyers from various countries also turn up to this event, placing big quantities of orders from the designer collections.
Here is a sneak peak of the few responses from the buyers, these designers have received in the first two days of SS17 AIFW.
Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti
‘Folkflaire’ by Shruti Sancheti was a fusion of European folk culture with Indian textiles. Usage of Chanderi, linen, Khadi denim, Mulberry silk, cotton silk, organic cotton with striking prints added a certain bohemian charm to this entire collection. Embracing sustainability, the designer adhered to use loads of organic chambray in her SS 17 collection. “Chambray is muted, refined, restrained and yet looks very elegant”, added the designer. A variety of hand woven Chambray was incorporated along with delicate cutworks, beadwork and small detailing work like rivets, gunmetal buttons.
With plenty of buyers turning up to her stall on the very first day of the Fashion week, Shruti exclaimed, “Today was a busy day! I thought it’s going be a quiet morning” International buyers from countries such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, US have already placed orders in big quantities. “This time I’m focusing on international aspect, where soul is indian, base is Indian but look is international…”
Pinnacle’s recent collection has an old world charm wrapped in contemporary assortment of relaxed silhouettes with beadwork and resham threadwork. ‘I have received interesting suggestions from my buyers. They have told me to incorporate few details & I will’, asserts Shruti.
Anomaly by Medha Khosla
This creative designer brand focuses on fuss free casual wear which comprises of natural fabrics like silk, linen, chambray. Targeted to cater professional working women, the functional silhouettes are both easy to maintain & easy to wear.
The outerwear silhouettes of Anomaly such as jackets can be worn in any season. “The idea is to create transitional pieces which can be worn throughout the year.. This shirt dress can be worn as a jacket, or a dress or just as an overlay”, claims Medha.
The creative designer is excited about their coming show on Saturday and are interested in playing around with few design detailing on request. “We are not into made to order but we are open to tweaking designs”
Anomaly encountered quite a many buyers on their first day at AIFW. “We have got a lot of enquiries today. We are looking forward to more buyers. It’s a great platform for us to be visible and showcase our collection…”
Gauri and Nainika
The designer duo does not need an introduction in the fashion world- marvelous drapery, bizarre prints and chic patterns describe the designer collection. The signature usage of fabric manipulation and the fascinating patterns deserve a special mention. The stall witnessed plenty of footfalls from the morning with international and domestic buyers flocking to enquire about the collection. “A lot of buyers are turning up and placing orders with us”, states the merchandiser of the designer brand.
